International Admission Requirements
To be considered for admission, an international student must:
- Submit an Application for Admission (either undergraduate, graduate, or law school, depending on course of study).
- Submit to the Office of Admissions two official copies of transcripts from each college or university attended. These should be sent as soon as possible. Upon completion of the current semester, send a follow-up transcript. The high school transcript is required if the applicant has less than 30 hours of transfer work.
- Have a letter of recommendation written by a teacher, counselor or employer.
- Compose a personal statement of 300 words or less detailing your reasons for wishing to transfer to Loyola and what factors influenced your choice to apply. Please note that this essay will be used as an important document in scholarship consideration.
- Submit a résumé displaying significant community involvement and demonstrated leadership abilities.

Supporting documents
In addition to meeting the above requirements, all international applicants:
- Must submit results of the TOEFL or IELTS.
- Students must score a 5.5 or above on the IELTS to be admitted through Loyola's Intensive English Pilot Program or a 6.5 to be admitted traditionally.
- All international students who will be freshmen must obtain a TOEFL score of at least 550 paper based, 213 computer based, 79 IBT or above or successful completion of the Intensive English Pilot Program.
- The students must score at least a 500 (paper based), 173 (computer based), or a 61 (Internet based) on the TOEFL to be admitted to the Intensive English Pilot Program.
- Requiring F-1 or J-1 visas must submit an affidavit of support.
Deadlines
The deadline for application and supporting documents is July 1 for the fall semester and November 1 for the spring semester.
