MAGIS DAYS ... Experience MORE ...

UPCOMING DATES: April 17, 2015 and April 20, 2015

Congratulations on your admission to Loyola University New Orleans!

Magis, the Latin term that means "the more," is a cornerstone of Jesuit Education. Living the magis brings out the best in all of us. We invite you to participate in a Magis Day program. These programs are designed for admitted students who are unable to attend President's Open House. Participating in a Magis Day program allows you to experience some of the ways Loyola will help you develop your magis.

Schedule of Events:

Check-In: Your day begins with check-in in Thomas Hall in the Office of Admissions. You will be greeted by staff and introduced to your Loyola Student Ambassador(s) who will serve as your host for the day.

Design Your Day's Schedule: You design your day on campus choosing from the following options:

  • Class Visits
  • Campus / Residential Life Tours
  • Faculty / Department Meetings
  • Lunch (or coffee) with Current Students in the Student Center
  • Visits with Financial Aid & Scholarships, Career Services, or any other student services
  • Experience Loyola and the City of New Orleans

On your registration form, select which options you would like to participate in during your campus visit. These options are designed to give you a feel for what it is like to live and learn at Loyola. There are some options you will attend with your parents, however, only students will sit in on classes; parents can take advantage of other options at that time.

Your day will end in Thomas Hall with a wrap-up session which could include meeting with an admissions counselor as an option. Come discover your place on campus and be a part of MORE!

Magis Track during Daily Visits

The Magis Day program provides a half-day of information sessions, facilities tours, and academic meetings. We highly encourage you to attend one of these programs if you can not attend President's Open House. If this is not possible, we offer a Magis Track during daily visits which include a presentation with an admissions counselor, a campus tour, class visits and interactions with current students - all tailored to admitted students.
