Biography

When I first arrived at Loyola University New Orleans from Honduras as a student, I was struck by how the university was a microcosm of the city of New Orleans. Most notably the university shares the cityís rich diversity, creating a uniqueness that is not easily found. The diversity of the student population creates a very welcoming environment.

On campus you will find a jazz studies student from New York practicing their instrument in the Palm Court while a physics student from Costa Rica passes by on their way to a course in quantum mechanics. You will find the eccentric and conventional sitting next to you in your classes, as well as walking on the streets of the French Quarter or in the historic Audubon Park.

I have learned an invaluable amount from the opportunity to study, live, and work with others who have different backgrounds and worldviews from my own. Diversity is at the core of who we are as a university community, and this affords the freedom for you to truly be yourself.
